  The 22 Dunhams who responded to the Lexington or Marshfield alarm are color coded in green. Those who served in Lexington or Marshfield and also at Saratoga are coded in purple. Dunhams who had service in the Saratoga theater alone are coded in pink. Those Dunhams who we know from the DAR Patriot Index, (or from other sources) had Patriotic Service are color coded in blue.   Joseph Daniel Daniel (1712-1796) Daniel was a Captain in the Continental Army of Rhode Island and was in the 1745 expedition to Louisbourg and Crown Point.  He was a Colonel in the RI Militia, 1770-1774. (Listed as a patriot of the revolution but not confirmed) Daniel (1738-1815) He served on continental sloop of war  “Providence” under the command of Capt. John Paul Jones which captured or sank 40 british ships between November 1775-August 1779

  Joseph Eleazer Israel Cornelius Cornelius (1748-1835)  Master & co-owner of Massachusetts schooner "Hopewell" commissioned by John Hancock July 26, 1782.  Taken prisoner and detained at Halifax, NS for 3 years.  Recovered the sword of General Joseph Warren (killed at Bunker Hill) which was donated to the Bunker Hill Monument Association.  
* Joseph Eleazer Israel Cornelius Captain George Dunham(1750-1819) Served in the local militia.  Responded to the Lexington alarm and served almost continuously until 1781.  Made Sergeant in 4th Mass.during the siege of Boston 1775. Made 2nd Lt. in 21st Continentals and participated in Battle of Long Island, White Plains and during the retreat through New Jersey in 1776.  Crossed the Delaware with Washington and fought at Trenton and Princeton.  Raised 100 men from the Plymouth area during 1777 and fought at the Battle of Saratoga. Of the 100 men 17 were dead, wounded or missing by the end of Valley Forge in 1778.  *
