From Gratia's report : Item Five – Report of the Bedfordshire Research to date (by Gratia Mahony) Over the summer of 2013 I was in frequent communication with Bedfordshire Family History researcher Mary Wooldridge. Her knowledge and expertise allow us to discover and document (and she sent a photograph of the actual will) the will of Richard Dunham. Her research in the Pirton, Hertfordshire Co. England records also uncovered the actual baptismal record of John Dunham (aka Deacon John Dunham.) Mary Wooldridge also did research in the Old Parish Records for the counties of Bedfordshire and Hertfordshire to provide me with information on all the Dunham families who lived there in the 1700’s. This was done to give me the background information to try to figure out if either of the brothers of John Dunham (William or Richard, Jr.) had families who might have remained in those areas. The goal is to find a living male Dunham in England whose DNA matches that of the Deacon John Dunham line, and thus to trace his ancestry back to the Pirton Dunham family. Research is ongoing on this project. I wrote articles for the 15 April, 2013 and the 15 July, 2013 and the 15 October, 2013 DSFC newsletters. |
