According to the "Hance and Allied Families" History, "after the Dunham family moved to Paris, Oneida Co., NY, in 1794, Johnson Dunham took his younger brother Silas and removed to New Jersey. In 1803, Johnson was given 'an appointment' at Flanders Church (near Budd Lake, Morris, Co., NJ. He later moved to Asbury, Warren Co., NJ, where he was a Methodist Pastor. He and his brother Silas opened a store in Asbury, which also had the Post Office."
We can see that Darius-5 Dunham, b. in 1762, was not a son of either Micajah-4 Dunham or David-5 Dunham and Tabitha Cooley, but the fact that David-5 had a son Darius b. in 1790, and the fact that David-5 had a son Johnson-6) who was a Methodist pastor, are strong clues which indicate that Darius-6, b. in 1762, was closely related to this family. Thus, I place Darius-5 Dunham, the man who was a Methodist pastor at the Hay Bay church in the Bay of Quinte, as a son of David-4 Dunham and Esther (possibly Richardson). His line back to Deacon John-1 Dunham would be;
Darius-5 Dunham, (David-4 Dunham, Micajah-3 Joseph-2 John-1 Dunham), was born about March 1762; died in Fredericksburg, VA, 13 September 1825 and is buried at Switzer’s Chapel at Switzerville, Ontario, Canada, Find a Grave Memorial ID: 189657963. He married about 1792 Elizabeth Detlor. She died near Napanee, Ont ario, Canada, at the home of her son Enoch Fletcher Dunham on March 1, 1848. She is buried in the Riverside Cemetery at Napanee, Find a Grave Memorial ID: 189635758.
