On September 24, 1776, he was sent as delegate to Dorset, Bennington, Vt. to organize Vermont as a state. He served as a private from May 19 to June 28, 1779, in Capt. Thomas Sawyer's company of militia

ii. Lucy Dunham, b. 02-07-1759 in Hebron, CT, d. 10-09-1823 in Pownal, VT. She

married (1) Benjamin Morgan, 11-16-1775 in Pownal, VT. Benjamin: Military Service 191,424,425,426,427,428, Green Mountain Boy, Herricks Rangers of Vermont, rank of private from Vermont, 1775-1778 - Revolutionary War Was a member of troop from Pownal Vermont under Captain Samuel Wright and Lt. William Wheeler who Ethan Allen took command of at Castleton VT in 1775 to march on Ft Ticonderoga. Benjamin participated in Ethan Allen’s march to Canada under Seth Warner and was a member of the rangers under Col Herrick and took part in the battles of Saratoga, Bemis Heights, & Bennington along with Quebec, Ft Ticonderoga and Crown Point. She married (2) Isaac Duel, 06-22-1806.

Jackson, 01-03-1782 in Pownal, VT, b. 1-29-1756 in Simsbury, CT (son of Michael Jackson and Susannah Wilcoxson), d. 3-20-1835 in Albion, PA.

vi. Mehitable Dunham, b. 04-05-1771 in Pownal, VT, d. 03-16-1817 in Erie, PA. She

married Cornelius Hendricks, 1790 in prob. Middlefield, NY (son of William Hendricks and Eunice Thorpe), d. 05-22-1816 in Erie County, PA.

vii. Abner Dunham, b. 08-17-1773 in Pownal, VT, d. 02-16-1822 in Cooperstown, NY.

Thought to have had 4 sons and 5 daughters. He married (1) Candace Irons, 1798 in Middlefield, NY, b. 02-07-1779; d. 10-27-1814. He married (2) Gratis Griffen
