LINE OF JONATHAN DUNHAM OF WOODBRIDGE, NEW JERSEY

FORTH GENERATION IN AMERICA

27. JOHN-4 DUNHAM (Nathaniel-3 Dunham, Jonathan-2 Dunham alias Singletary, Richard-1 Singletary) born in Westfield, Union, NJ, say 1708, [1] died (unknown). He may have married a woman named Hiley Ann, possibly surname Ross.

This John-4 Dunham and his likely son Nathaniel-5 Dunham who migrated to Clermont County, Ohio, have been very difficult to place within the family genealogy. At one time I had considered that this John-4 was a son of one of the illegitimate children of David-3 Dunham. I had also considered that he may have been a son of David-3 and his wife Mary (Ilsley) Dunham. I now (2023) believe that he was a son of Nathaniel-3 and Joanna (Thornell) Dunham. The reasons for this will be discussed under Nathaniel-5 Dunham who we can locate in Scotch Plains, Union, NJ and Somerset Co., NJ.

Child of John-4 and possibly Hiley Ann (Ross) Dunham.
53. Nathaniel-5 Dunham b. 1733-1742.

1. Research has been done by numerous researchers including several people who descend from Nathaniel-5 Dunham. This research will be discussed under the next generation, number 53.
